Aren’t these big, bold blooms beautiful? I’m really in love with this collection by Simon Hurley, you know me and floral dies, so these are just my thing.
I wanted a bit of variation to the petals so chose to watercolour them instead of using coloured cardstock and I’m really pleased with how they turned out. I thought the sentiments would look lovely with a touch of glitter so I used gold and silver glitter card, but used the same white card for the shadow/mat layer to keep it clean and simple.
Here’s a video on how I put these together….

I’ve got a new video up on my YouTube channel today showing how I made this cute wreath card, along with the foiled sentiment.
Here’s the video – it gives a good look at the Spellbinders Glimmer Foil system too, which I know lots of you are curious about (and in my opinion it’s a fabulous foiling system)
Today is launch day for Eileen’s new Sizzix release, it’s a fabulous collection and I can’t wait to bring these dies and embossing folders to Create and Craft in a couple of week’s time.
First, there’s a look at all the elements:
Here’s the info from Eileen herself on her thinking behind this collection –
“I am so excited to share my Chapter 3 Sizzix die collection! Each piece in the set stands alone but also coordinates with the others to make a truly versatile and valuable addition to your collection.
The ScoreBoards Skinny Mini Book Box is a really great size- it measures 6 3/4″ x 4″ with an adjustable built in spine from 3/8″ to 2 1/4″. This die may be used to create a book by die cutting two covers OR a box if you add the side pieces to the covers. If you add the box supports, it will hold mini-slimline size cards.
The Skinny Mini Elements Thinlits will cut a cool star pattern that perfectly covers the front of the Skinny Mini book or the front of a slimline card. And you can also expand the size of the design to create a whole page pattern.
I have been wanting to make a Card Caddy die for a while… so many people are making cards these days that I figured that they would love to have the ability to make a really pretty container to hold them. I love the shape of this box and it goes together so quickly- also fun to decorate! It will hold cards up to 5 1/4″ wide.
The 3D folder is called Woven Leather and it looks so realistic! Makes a great background for cards, journal pages or covers”.
I’m already thinking that card caddy’s filled with cards would make lovely Christmas presents, so that’s something else to add to my ‘to do’ list!
I’m also very happy to have another journal option – I absolutely love making journals, and how lovely does the Skinny Mini Elements die look on the front?
It also looks beautiful on a card front (and of course the card fits nicely inside both the book and the caddy).
SO NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT INFO!
There’s a blog hop to celebrate the launch as well as a FB live. Pop over to Eileen’s blog for all the details. There’s also some prizes, so make sure you catch the live!
I’ll be on Create and Craft TV on the 22 August with the release, so you can expect to see more creations and inspiration from me over the next couple of weeks.
I can’t quite believe it, but my gorgeous niece Georgie is going to be 21 in July. Makes me feel very old. I decided to get my crepe paper flower dies out to make a bold statement flower to dress up a very plain kraft bag.
For the card, I used some dies from the recent Botanical collection by Lisa Jones at Sizzix, the Wild Wreath die is great for special cards.
I’ve put details below of all the other dies I used to create this gift bag and card.

I’ve got a very busy week of shows this week. Both on Create & Craft UK and US.
First up, I’m on Create & Craft US on Wednesday with a bit of a Sizzix takeover. There are 4 shows back to back, two will be mixed media shows with these gorgeous Lisa Jones botanical dies, then I’ve got 2 shows with the brand new Effectz range of paints and mediums. Check out the website for timings as I know they’ll be different depending on which time zone you are. For UK viewers that might want to watch them, you can watch if you go to http://www.createandcraft.com/us. I’m on from 9pm to midnight our time.
The UK shows are as follows – double Mixed Media show with these gorgeous Botanical dies (and the new Tim Holtz Colorize sets called Under the Sea) on Thursday at midday, then Pete takes over with the launch of the new Effectz range. He’s there Thurs/Fri/Sat, then I’m back on Sunday at 14.15 with my take on the Effectz range. I’ll share my projects with those in a separate blog post.
So it’s a very busy week on C&C for Sizzix!

Well I wasn’t struggling for inspiration this year when it came to make my Mother’s Day cards – it was the perfect excuse to make some more cards with the new Lisa Jones collection. My mum is from London, and my mother-in-law is from Birmingham, hence the different spellings of mum on my cards!

I’m back at Create & Craft TV tomorrow with an absolutely stunning collection of dies, papers and washi tape, all with a lovely wild bloom theme. I will share photos of all my projects (there’s a lot, and I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface of what you can do with this collection).
There’s a fabulous Serif Alphabet in the collection, and as each letter is approx 3.5cm high, it’s perfect for home decor projects.
Isn’t the colour palette beautiful? There’s a pack of plain card, plus a patterned paper pack as well as washi tape, all co-ordinating.
There’s a die set to create both frames and that lovely delicate border you see – so it works really well to add a pop of metallic or a bolder colour, and there are circles and rectangles that can be framed with the various floral elements.
If you know me well, you know I have a thing for wreath designs, so this one is my new favourite thing. I coloured this one with some oxide inks to give it a really nice blue/green kind of eucalyptus feel.

I’m back at Create and Craft next week (Tue 9th and Wed 10th), with a fabulous deal on the Big Shot Plus, along with some gorgeous dies. Since we are showcasing the Plus machine, we’ve got a couple of the Bigz Plus dies, one of which, this Hanging Wreath die, is one I hadn’t used before. I’m really loving it. I quite often buy chipboard wreath shapes for creating with, so I’m delighted that I can save money and just cut my own from now on.
The peach flowers are part of the wreath die, and the large flower is another die we have on the shows called Icelandic Poppy. I cut them all from the Sizzix floral foam.
I didn’t want to waste the piece that popped out of the centre of the wreath, so I used that as a little plaque.
Which brings me along nicely to the next die set on the show – the Feathered Friends set by Tim Holtz.
My shows are at midday on the 9th (double show), and 14.15 on the 10th.

There are some lovely new dies in the Sizzix Chapter One release, and Eileen Hull has a really fabulous new journal die. It’s called the Folio Journal, and it creates a lovely square journal with lots of options to configure it in different ways.
As it’s easier to see in real life than photos, I’ve put together a couple of videos. The first is an overview and shows you her new dies, and the second video is an in-depth tutorial to make the journal above.
